It Happened This Week

Sunday

People.

I performed a miracle yesterday.

I fit clothes (and shoes!  And bathing suits!  And beach towels) for four people for ten days into ONE suitcase.  The one suitcase that I usually take for a three day weekend in New Orleans for just me.  I.am.awesome.  Somebody give me a medal!

Anyhow, the kids and I (and the mom and the grandma and the cousin) are headed east today.  We've been counting down to this trip for a while now and we're really excited.  I plan to (hope to?) blog about the trip as we go.  We'll see if it actually pans out.  Feel free to follow me on Instagram where I'll (hopefully) post pictures as we go along.  And, of course, if you and I are friends on Facebook (Hi Kira!) then you done already know you're going to be inundated with pictures and check-in's galore.  Yeah.  I'm one of those Facebookers.

This coming week promises to be more excited than the one we just completed (and by exciting I mean, "YAY! WE'RE GOING TO SEE THE WASHINGTON YO-MAMA-MENT!")  But here's a little look a the past week:

Sunday 6/3:

We made a Tennessee River Run to drop off Z with her grandmother.  We got caught in a storm - with monsoon rains - on the way home and ended up spending about an hour in a gas station parking lot waiting for it to pass.  Fun.

Saturday 6/9:

Before I go, I want to share this with you:

Since we'll be gone over Father's Day (which also happens to be Eddie's birthday this year!), we decided to give these to Daddy a week early.  (We also took him to dinner last night).  Is that not, like, the cutest thing ever?  I love the answers kids give!  I printed them from here if you're interested in seeing what your little bits have to say about their own Pop!
